New cycle carrier system means safer roads and less hassle

A stylish new locally-made product could see an end to poorly-fitted, unsafe cycle carriers on roads across the West Midlands and Warwickshire.

The Drop-On Carrier system is designed to quickly and easily fit onto any vehicle with a tow bar – making it safer and less hassle to fit than conventional strap-on alternatives. The robust Drop-On Carrier system comes in two models - FreeTail is made from tubular steel, while the latest version, FreeSpace, comes in stylish, lightweight aluminium.  Both systems can accommodate up to four bikes and can be easily adjusted to carry a range of other items, including golf clubs, ski equipment, sailing gear and horse tack.

The new FreeSpace range has been ergonomically designed to take away the hassle of fitting straps – as used in many inferior systems – and make the whole process of bike transport much safer.  The new Drop-On Carrier range also benefits from a sleek modern design that is easy to handle and store, thanks to its wall-mounted bracket system.

Nigel Stokes, managing director of Coventry-based Drop-On Carriers, said: “Research has shown that strap-on systems are difficult to fit and often illegal if lights and number plates are obscured and potentially hazardous if not fitted securely. We are confident that anyone serious about trouble-free bike transportation will opt for a Drop-On Carrier.”
